A rug can give identity to your room, choose a patterned rug to add colour to your room, if the room is in pastel or at least neutral colours. If your room is already colourful, you’d better go with a solid one-colour rug to avoid cluttered space. Remember that solid rug can’t conceal stains and dirt, yet patterned carpet can. 

Also, don’t bound yourself to standard rug shapes. You are free to choose an oval-shaped, circular, etc. to suit your space better. 

Rug Textile / Fibre

One of the biggest mistakes people make while choosing a rug is choosing the wrong material. Before purchase think about how you want the rug to feel. Think about wool rugs, they can add warmth and softness to your floor, meanwhile, materials like jute, sisal that are less expensive might feel a little rough. Silk rugs are usually of the best material but they are expensive and difficult to clean. Consider all these things before making the final decision. 

Budget

Certainly, the budget is on the list. Don’t save up on a good rug, remember that high-quality rugs such as wool and silk carpets will serve longer, and they are more durable than rugs of cheap materials. Generally, look at other pieces of furniture and guide yourself on how much to spend on the rug.
